The U.S. Staffing Industry Stock Index, a basket of 17 staffing industry stocks tracked by Staffing Industry Analysts, fell by 13 percent in the second quarter. The decline follows the index’s first-quarter gain of 17 percent.

Only two staffing stocks posted gains in the second quarter — Volt Information Sciences Inc. (OTCBB: VISI.PK) and Barrett Business Services Inc. (NASD: BBSI).
