Staffing Provider Faces Lawsuit Claiming Unpaid Wages

September 17, 2012

A San Diego law firm filed suit against Marquee Staffing claiming employees were unpaid for time spent changing into and out of uniforms before and after work.

Blumenthal, Nordrehaug and Bhowmik, the firm that filed the suit, said time changing into a uniform is compensable work time.

The suit alleges the time added at least 15 minutes per day of unpaid work, according to court documents.

Two plaintiffs were employed by Marquee as non-exempt employees and provided services for Natural Alternatives International Inc. at its Vista, Calif., vitamin packaging facility, according to court documents.

Blumenthal, Nordrehaug & Bhowmik filed the complaint on Sept. 6, 2012.
