A printing company in Dallas paid $96,335 in overtime back wages to 101 employees after investigators found it used two time clocks and two separate staffing firms, the U.S. Department of Labor reported.

The company, Nieman Printing Inc., used two different time clocks during the workweek and failed to combine the hours to determine overtime, according to the department. In addition, investigators found the company used two separate staffing firms with hours worked Monday through Wednesday charged to one and hours worked by the same employees for Thursday to Sunday to the other staffing firm.

“This company knowingly used illegal employment tactics to avoid paying workers overtime,” said Cynthia Watson, regional administrator for the department’s Wage and Hour Division in the Southwest.
