Silicon Valley hiring gaining momentum, survey finds

February 21, 2014

Employers in California’s Silicon Valley see improving hiring trends through the first quarter of the year and into 2014, according to West Valley Staffing Group's latest Silicon Valley economic forecast survey.

The quarterly survey found 41.2 percent of hiring managers predict their hiring to increase in first quarter and 54.3 percent believe that hiring trends will remain steady throughout the first quarter. Only 4.5 percent of hiring managers expect their needs to decrease.

“Silicon Valley job growth is continuing its upward trend, and we are seeing a recovery in many industry sectors across the board. We are seeing businesses continue to turn to staffing agencies to assist in locating the best talent for their growing staffing demands,” said Charlie Allport, executive vice president of West Valley Staffing Group. “Our job orders are still steadily growing and this is a good indication of how the second quarter is going to be.”

The survey included 750 hiring managers from several industries, including high tech, manufacturing, electronics, finance, semiconductor, medical, aerospace, alternative energy.
