Sierra Systems Group Inc., an information technology and management consulting firm, said it struck a deal to acquire RIS Inc., a privately held Calgary, Alberta, IT services and staffing company. The deal is set to close Nov. 30. RIS and its 250 employees and 350 subcontractors will operate under the Sierra Systems' name.

Golden Gate Capital, a San Francisco-based private equity firm, supported Sierra in the acquisition, the company said. The firm also took Sierra Systems private earlier this year.
