Seaton buys Australia-based RPO firm

February 03, 2014

Seaton, a privately held staffing provider based in Chicago, acquired HRX, a recruitment process outsourcing provider headquartered in Sydney. The transaction closed on Jan. 31 and the terms were not announced.

HRX joins Seaton’s operating brands — Staff Management|SMX, PeopleScout and StudentScout. It will operate as HRX, a PeopleScout Company.

HRX Managing Director Jane Hussey will remain in her current role and the HRX management team will remain in place. Both Hussey and Taryn Owen, divisional president of PeopleScout, will directly report to Seaton CEO Patrick Beharelle, and the divisions will closely collaborate on global RPO opportunities.

“The combination of our PeopleScout division and HRX will bring tangible benefits to RPO clients in the form of enhanced sourcing technology, expanded service offerings and additional global reach,” said  Beharelle. “This is the first acquisition Seaton has made in the 25 years we’ve been in business. We’ve looked at dozens of acquisitions over our history and firmly believe that HRX represents the best strategic opportunity for Seaton, its employees and its clients.”

Seaton ranks No. 27 on Staffing Industry Analysts’ list of largest U.S. staffing firms.
