Salo Project LLC, a financial and human resources staffing firm, acquired the Chicago-based business formerly known as The Johnsson Group from PRGX Global Inc. The Johnsson Group provides financial and human resources staffing as well, and the acquisition expands Salo’s existing presence in the Chicago market and brings the company’s overall headcount to more than 400.

The transaction closed Sept. 30; terms were not disclosed.

The combined entity will do business as Salo LLC and The Johnsson Group’s executives will remain with the company. Managing Director Mike Jefvert will keep his title and role, as will Salo Managing Director Mitch Ornstein.

“We've experienced tremendous success here in Chicago and are excited to join Salo to enhance our ability to solve business issues,” said Jefvert, “This positions us firmly as a leader in the finance, accounting and human resources staffing arenas in both markets.”

The Johnsson Group had one location in Chicago with 23 employees. They join Salo’s existing Chicago office of 61 for a total of 84 employees.
