SFN Group Inc., (NYSE: SFN), reported board member A. Michael Victory died on March 27. Victory had served on the board since August 1980.

SFN Group is the new name for Spherion Corp.

"Michael has been a part of our family for 30 years," said SFN President and CEO Roy Krause. "During this time, Michael was instrumental in both the purchase of our company by H&R Block, and then our initial public offering in 1994. He has made significant contributions to the growth and strategic development of our company. Michael served with distinction and he will be sorely missed. We extend our deepest sympathies to the Victory family."

SFN Group ranked as the seventh-largest staffing firm in the U.S. on Staffing Industry Analysts' 2009 list of largest U.S. staffing firms.
