Rhode Island posts highest jobless rate

Rhode Island posted the highest unemployment rate among all states in May at 8.2 percent, according to data released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Mississippi and Nevada followed at 8.0 percent and 7.7 percent respectively. Georgia and Kentucky were next at 7.5 percent each.

North Dakota posted the lowest unemployment rate in May at 2.6 percent.
