Rhode Island posts highest jobless rate

Rhode Island posted the highest unemployment rate among all states in April at 8.3 percent, according to data released today by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Nevada and Illinois followed at 8.0 percent and 7.9 percent, respectively. California was next at 7.8 percent.

North Dakota posted the lowest unemployment rate in April at 2.6 percent.
