Revenue falls 25% at General Employment

Fourth-quarter revenue fell 25.1% at General Employment Enterprises Inc. (AMEX: JOB) to $3.8 million.

The Oakbrook Terrace IL-based staffing firm posted a net loss of $474,000 compared with net income of $344,000 in the fourth quarter of the previous year.

"Our fourth-quarter results were adversely affected by the turmoil in the U.S. financial markets and deteriorating employment conditions," said Chairman and CEO Herbert Imhoff Jr. "Clients became increasingly cautious about hiring."

Revenue for the full fiscal year ended Sept. 30 fell 22.6% to $15.2 million. General Employment Enterprises posted a loss of $1.8 million for the year compared with net income of $914,000 in the previous year.
