Third-quarter revenue at Command Center Inc. (OTCBB: CCNI.OB) fell 17.1% to $21.9 million from $26.4 million in the same period last year.

Chairman and CEO Glenn Welstad said the company was still able to post an operating profit of $194,477 despite tough economic conditions as a result of branch consolidation and cost controls.

Gross margin at the Post Falls ID-based commercial staffing firm, however, slipped to 26.4% from 30.0% in the third quarter of 2007.

Command Center reported a third-quarter net loss of $115,819 compared with third quarter net income of $444,342 last year.
