Retail job postings have increased 15 percent since January 2012, according to research from Indeed, a job posting search engine. Indeed reported that retail job postings increased steadily each of the last three months as employers ramped up seasonal hiring, with 346,641 postings in October, the highest of the year so far.
“Despite a summer slowdown in retail job postings, we saw employer demand increase steadily through the fall. This is a positive sign for consumer confidence overall, and indicates stronger seasonal hiring to support increased holiday spending. Although the majority of seasonal hiring is usually completed by mid-November, the data shows that employers are still looking to add staff,” said Michael Werch, communications manager at Indeed.
