First-quarter U.S. revenue was $95.5 million, up 8.5% on a year-over-year basis.

Gross margin improved to 39.8% from 38.2% from the year-ago quarter.

Resources Connection posted first-quarter net income of $1.2 million compared with a net loss of $7.2 million in the first quarter of the previous year. The company said the year-ago quarter included $7.0 million in expenses related to the resignation of two senior executives.
