Resources Connection Inc., an Irvine CA-based finance and accounting staffing and services firm, announced today Anthony Cherbak will serve as president and chief operating officer.

Cherbak had served as executive VP of operations at Resources Connection beginning in 2005 and took on the duties of president of international operations in 2008. He was a partner with Deloitte & Touche LLP before joining the firm.

In addition, Resources Connection announced Executive VP and Chief Strategy Officer Karen Ferguson resigned effective Friday to pursue other interests. Ferguson also stepped down from her position on the board of directors, which will be filled by Cherbak.

Resources Connection announced last month that Thomas Christopoul resigned as president and CEO. Donald Murray, the company's founder and executive chairman, took on the role of CEO.
