Resources Connection Inc. (NASD: RECN) promoted Tony Cherbak to CEO effective May 28. Current CEO and executive chairman Don Murray will remain executive chairman.

Cherbak’s appointment as CEO is part of the company’s internal succession plan.

Cherbak was named president and chief operating officer of Resources Global Professionals, Resource Connection’s operating subsidiary, in August 2009. He served as president of international operations from November 2008 to August 2009, and as executive vice president of operations from July 2005 to August 2009. He joined the company in July 2005 from Deloitte & Touche LLP.

Resources Connection provides finance/accounting, legal and information technology staffing along with other services.
