Resources Connection Inc. (NASD: RECN) reported revenue rose 4.1 percent to $143.3 million in its fiscal third quarter ended Feb. 25, 2012. That compares to revenue of $137.7 million in the same period in the previous fiscal year.

The Irvine, Calif.-based company provides staffing and other services through its Resources Global Professionals subsidiary. Segments served by the firm’s staffing services include finance/accounting, information technology, legal and human resources. It ranks as the third-largest provider of finance/accounting staffing in the U.S., according to Staffing Industry Analysts.

Resources Connection’s third-quarter U.S. revenue was $104.7 million, up 4.8 percent from the same period in the previous fiscal year.

Third-quarter gross margin rose to 37.4 percent from 37.0 percent in the year-ago quarter.

Net income rose to $4.3 million in the third quarter from $750,000 million in the third quarter of the previous fiscal year.
