Resources Connection Inc. (NASD: RECN) reported revenue rose 11.6 percent in its fiscal first quarter ended Aug. 27 to $138.0 million, compared with $123.7 million in the year-ago quarter. The Irvine, Calif.-based company provides finance and accounting, information technology and legal personnel through its Resources Global Professionals subsidiary. It also provides public relations and corporate turnaround services.

U.S. revenue was up 5.0 percent, while international revenue rose 34.0 percent. On a constant currency basis, international revenue rose 19.9 percent, the company said.

Gross margin fell in the first quarter to 37.8 percent from 39.8 percent in the year-ago quarter.

Net income rose 111.1 percent to $2.6 million from $1.2 million a year ago.
