A survey by online job board operator Dice Holdings Inc. (NYSE: DHX) found that two-thirds of U.S. employers and recruiters (67%) plan to scale back hiring plans in the next six months. It also found that one-third believe layoffs are likely.

Back in June, a similar survey found that only 52% planned to scale back hiring and 20% were expecting layoffs.

The survey had more than 1,000 responses from U.S. employers and recruiters.
