Remedy Intelligent Staffing's founder dies

November 27, 2007
The founder of Remedy Intelligent Staffing died Nov. 21. Robert Emmett McDonough, who founded the company in Riverside CA in 1965, was 85 years old.

Remedy opened its first franchise office in 1988 and went public on the Nasdaq in 1996, according to the company. McDonough sold RemedyTemp Inc., the parent company of Remedy Intelligent Staffing and RemX Specialty Staffing, to Select Staffing in 2006. The company had revenue of $514 million and more than 200 offices in North America at the time.

"Bob led a successful organization that engineered great business practices and built 'best in class systems' that are woven — not just into our company — but into our entire industry," said Select Staffing Chairman and CEO Steve Sorensen. "His contributions will be missed, his absence felt every day."
