Real average weekly earnings rise 0.3%

Real average weekly earnings rose by 0.3% in February from January, according to preliminary, seasonally adjusted data released today by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Average hourly earnings rose 0.3% while the consumer price index for urban wage earners and clerical workers and average weekly hours were unchanged.

Average weekly earnings were $595.86 in February before seasonal adjustment and inflation, compared with $574.48 a year earlier.
