Randstad revenue up 4% organically per working day in October

Randstad Holding nv reported revenue per working day rose 4.0 percent in October and the November trend appears to be in line with October. Permanent placement fees rose 21 percent in October. The world’s second-largest staffing provider also announced a €60 million to €70 million cost savings plan (including a €20 million to €23 million already announced in the Netherlands).

The announcement came ahead of the company’s capital markets day in London today.

North America revenue rose 5 percent while North America US staffing revenue rose 10 percent.

European revenue rose 3 percent in October with revenue in the Netherlands accelerating to 5 percent growth in October from 4 percent in the third quarter. Iberia revenue rose 10 percent in October compared to 9 percent in Q2, and UK revenue rose 4 percent in October after falling 3 percent in Q3.

However, French revenue fell 4 percent in October, in line with Q3. Also, German revenue was flat in October after rising 2 percent in Q3.

Shares in Randstad rose 4.51 percent at close of trading today to €37.79.
