Randstad increases stake in Vedior

December 12, 2007
Randstad Holding NV in a news release for foreign investors said it increased its share in Vedior to 15.03% through open market purchases of 26.1 million shares.

Randstad announced Dec. 3 that it struck a deal to buy fellow Dutch staffing firm Vedior. The combined company would be the second-largest staffing firm in the world. At the time, Randstad said it would pay euro3.51 billion (US$5.14 billion) in a cash and stock deal. However, Randstad said the recent share purchases will reduce the amount of new shares it will issue to Vedior shareholders in the deal.
