Randstad begins new US outplacement business

December 09, 2014

Randstad Sourceright announced an outplacement business offering in the US, entering a segment dominated by two large players.

Randstad’s business line is called “career transition services.” It includes outplacement, where a downsized employee is assisted in finding a new job outside the client company, and redeployment, where it assists in finding a downsized employee a new role within the same company.

“The US outplacement industry is a $1 billion industry currently dominated by two large players: Lee Hect Harrison (Adecco) and Right Management (ManpowerGroup),” said Timothy Landhuis, senior research analyst at Staffing Industry Analysts. “These two firms combined for roughly 40 percent of the market in 2013, by our estimates. Randstad’s announcement may signify the addition of a significant new entrant into the competitive landscape of outplacement providers.”

Randstad Sourceright’s new business line is led by Karen Turner, president, career transition services, Randstad Sourceright. Turner previously was Randstad's president of healthcare.
