View All NewsRandstad: Employee confidence rises in April
The Randstad Employee Confidence Index edged up for the second consecutive month, rising 3.1 points in April to a level of 57, a figure last seen in August 2007. The index measures workers’ confidence in their personal employment situation and optimism about the economic environment.
“We are continuing to see a renewed sense of optimism across the U.S. workforce,” said Jim Link , managing director at Randstad US. “The data reveals employees are feeling an increased sense of security about their own jobs, and the economy as a whole, despite relative global economy uncertainty.”
Sixty percent of U.S. workers feel confident about the future of their current employers, and 44 percent feel they could find a new job if they desired. Thirty-two percent of U.S. employees believe the economy is strengthening, consistent with 30 percent in both March and February.
The study, conducted online by Harris Interactive, surveyed more than 1,200 U.S. workers in April 2013.
