“Skills mismatch is mainly the outcome of structural rigidities in labor markets, but it is also influenced by cyclical gaps between demand and supply,” Randstad CEO Jacques van den Broek said at the session ‘A New Production Revolution’ at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development Forum held in Paris this week. “We need to enable people to develop new skills, required to survive in the new world of work. This is not only the responsibility of the individual but also of companies, educational institutes, governments and policy makers.”
