RCM awarded $30 million school nurse staffing contract

June 26, 2015

RCM Technologies Inc. (NASD GM: RCMT) — a provider of engineering, IT and healthcare staffing — today announced the Chicago Board of Education awarded a new contract  to its specialty healthcare division. Under the four-year, $30 million contract, RCM will manage hiring, staffing and training of nurses for Chicago Public Schools.

RCM will provide approximately 170 nurses to Chicago Public Schools, supplementing the more than 200 nurses currently employed by the district. Chicago Public Schools has the option to renew the contract for an additional two years after the initial term.

“By having RCM manage the credentialing and professional development for both [Chicago Public Schools] and RCM nurses, we can ensure that the care provided meets the highest standards and that caregivers are up to date on required credentials and training,” said RCM Senior VP Michael Saks. “Chicago Public Schools’ highly trained nurses will be able to focus on providing care to the children of the Chicago Public Schools rather than on clerical responsibilities.”

Chicago Public Schools serves 396,000 students in 664 schools and is the third-largest school district in the US.
