Producer price index steady over month

October 14, 2010

The U.S. producer price index for the employment services industry was unchanged in September from August at a reading of 125.8 (Dec. 1996=100), according to nonseasonally adjusted number reported today by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. September's index reading was still up from its September 2009 reading of 124.9.

The producer price index measures changes over time from the prospective of the seller.

Included in the employment services industry are employment placement agencies, temporary help services, executive search services and professional employer organizations.
