Private equity buys Peopleclick

Peopleclick, a Raleigh NC-based firm that provides a vendor management system and other products, is being acquired by Bedford Funding for $100 million, the companies announced.

Peopleclick will be combined with Authoria, a human resources software firm already owned by Bedford. The combined companies will operate under the Peopleclick Authoria brand.

The companies announced that Peopleclick Authoria's products will be sold independently or as part of a suite. Authoria's products include software to help manage the recruiting process, performance appraisals, salary planning and succession planning.

Charles Jones, managing partner of Bedford Funding, will take on the role of chairman and CEO of Peopleclick Authoria effective immediately. Former Peopleclick Chairman and CEO Ron Kupferman and former Authoria CEO Jim McDevitt will serve as vice chairmen and work on business development activities in their respective markets.

Peopleclick serves more than 2,100 clients in 214 countries, including 54 Fortune 100 firms.
