Poland – IT firms are hiring

24 December 2014

Polish programmers and developers with knowledge about databases, SQL, Java and .NET are currently the most sought after IT professionals, according to the latest analysis by job search engine Adzuna Poland. According to the data, the best locations for those interested in working in the IT industry are Warsaw, Wroclaw and Krakow.

Poland is an attractive destination for global companies such as Microsoft, HP, Google, Oracle, IBM and SAP. The Polish subsidiary of global IT outsourcing services firm Luxoft recently announced plans to double its employment in Poland by the end of 2015. It currently employs more than 600 IT specialists in Kraków and Wrocław.

Polish specialists are well trained and regularly occupy high positions in international competitions, and the relationship between the quality of services and labor costs works in favor of the employer - says Hanna Piotrowska, manager Adzuna Poland. He points out that there is no shortage of jobs for lower level specialists or seniors.

IT companies competing for talent, are increasingly turning to colleges - presenting their offers of internships at university job fairs. More than a dozen well-known IT companies including Comarch, HP, GTech, Accenture, Nokia, CodiLime and Sygnity participated in this year's Nationwide IT Job Fair that took place from late October to early December at 14 well-known universities in six Polish cities including the Academy of Mining and Metallurgy in Krakow, University of Wroclaw and Polish-Japanese Institute of Information Technology in Warszawa.
