PeopleScout to help Walmart hire 100,000 veterans

May 28, 2013

PeopleScout will help Walmart hire 100,000 veterans over the next five years in a new recruitment process outsourcing deal announced today. PeopleScout calls it the largest ever RPO engagement focused on veterans.

PeopleScout, a division of SeatonCorp, will screen candidates, conduct pre-employment verifications and provide veterans with career counseling. Terms of the contract were not announced.

“We the only third-party provider that is helping them from an end-to-end process,” said SeatonCorp CEO Patrick Beharelle.

In addition to the RPO engagement, PeopleScout and Walmart are launching a talent exchange to match vets with job opportunities that most closely fit their background and interests.

“We’re creating a mechanism for veterans that apply to Walmart,” said Beharelle. “The talent exchange allows veterans to apply to Walmart, and if it’s not a good fit, to apply for consideration by other companies interested in hiring veterans.”
