People Watch: Manpower, SFN Group, StepStone Solutions

                                Manpower (NYSE:MAN) announced today that it has tapped staffing industry veteran Dana Shaw to lead the new global Center of Excellence for TAPFIN, the company’s North American managed service provider.

 “Our clients are looking for a customized contingent workforce solution with accelerated global implementation that leverages Manpower and TAPFIN’s proven local, regional and global best practices,” said Kip Wright, the global chair for the MSP global COE, and vice president and managing director of TAPFIN, Manpower’s North American MSP operation. “As the demand for contingent work and Manpower’s MSP business grows, it’s the right time to bring on an industry veteran like Dana Shaw, who has a track record of delivering high-impact results for clients.”

Said Shaw: “I look forward to combining my own global MSP experience with Manpower’s worldwide best practices, innovation and thought leadership. Together we will deliver powerful workforce solutions that enable clients to achieve their business goals.”

Shaw most recently served as senior VP of strategy and solutions at Staffing Industry Analysts, where she led SIA’s strategic initiatives related to sales, member services and all buyer-related research, content, conferences and webinars.

With $3.7 billion in global MSP spend and offices in 82 countries, Manpower recently was named the largest vendor neutral MSP in the world. TAPFIN recently ranked as a top overall performer MSP by SIA for high client and supplier satisfaction levels in North America.

SFN Group announced Karen Ferguson McLeod has been appointed as president of its executive services division, Tatum. Ferguson Macleod will drive an accelerated growth strategy and leverage synergies between Tatum and other SFN Group professional services businesses – Mergis, Technisource and SourceRight Solutions.

Ferguson MacLeod was co-founder of Resources Global Professionals – a professional services firm founded as a division of Deloitte & Touche LLP. As an executive vice president at that firm, she was responsible for all aspects of North American operations.

A CPA, Ferguson Macleod began her career with Deloitte and Touche. Most recently, she served as regional manager for Axiom Law on an interim basis. She currently serves on the board of directors of Overland Solutions.

StepStone Solutions has appointed Nick Discombe as chairman of the board. Discombe was previously CEO of US-based Witness Systems. Prior to that, he spent five years as CEO of Eyretel and also served as president of Synon Europe.  He is active in the U.S./UK private equity and venture community.

“His track record of leading both public and private high-growth technology companies, especially in a global market, will be invaluable to us as we grow StepStone Solutions organically and by targeted acquisition,” said Matthew Parker, StepStone Solutions’ CEO.

Pinstripe, a leading human resources and recruitment process outsourcing specialist,  announced that Neil Davies has joined the firm as vice president of global solutions and operations. Davies will be responsible for Pinstripe’s global operations, implementation, solution design and ongoing operational excellence.

Prior to joining Pinstripe, Davies worked for Kenexa as its director of RPO international business. He brings more than a decade of expertise of expertise in recruitment process outsourcing to Pinstripe.
