People: Staffing pioneer dies

Barry Wright Sr., founder of Temporaries Inc., died May 29 at age 76, according to The Washington Post and the American Staffing Association. Temporaries Inc. was a national temporary help service and was known for offering benefits such as health insurance, vacation pay and credit union membership to temps, according to the Post.

The American Staffing Association reported Wright served as its president from 1984 to 1991 and received its Leadership Hall of Fame Award in 1991. The ASA was known as the National Association of Temporary Services when Wright served as president.

Wright was also founder of Food for Christmas charities, which benefits food banks in the metropolitan Washington DC, Virginia and Maryland areas, according to the Post.
