People: RiseSmart, Strategic Staffing Solutions …

Here are recent promotions, new hires and other personnel announcements made by staffing firms. Today’s listings include changes at RiseSmart, Strategic Staffing Solutions, JMJ Philip Group, Insperity and more.

Outplacement provider RiseSmart added author Dan Pink to its strategic advisory council. Pink has authored five books on the new workplace, including “A Whole New Mind and Drive” and “To Sell is Human.”

Cynthia Pasky, president and CEO of Strategic Staffing Solutions, joined the board of manager of Detroit Renewable Energy LLC, a local provider of renewable energy in Detroit.

JMJ Philip Group announced Ami Katiyar joined its executive team as vice president, strategic search. Katiyar’s previous positions include director of global strategy at Bombardier Aerospace; director of global operations strategy and director of global development strategy at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide; and senior manager of corporate strategy at Levi Strauss & Co. JMJ Philip Group is a supply chain and manufacturing executive search firm, with offices in Chicago and Detroit.

Insperity Inc.’s (NYSE: NSP) board of directors approved an increase in the size of the board from eight to nine directors and appointed Carol R. Kaufman to fill the newly created directorship effective Nov. 1. Kaufman currently serves as executive vice president, secretary, chief administrative officer and chief governance officer of The Cooper Companies Inc. (NYSE: COO), a global medical device company, and as a director for Chindex International Inc. (CHDX), an American company providing health care services in China. Insperity is a Houston-based professional employer organization.

Nectir Inc., a staffing franchise organization, announced Tim Jacobs will head a new branch in Jackson, Miss. Jacobs is the Business Development Manager of Nectir Mississippi.

CTPartners Executive Search Inc. (NYSE MKT: CTP) announced Jefferey DeFazio will join the firm’s consumer and retail practice as a partner based in San Francisco. DeFazio previously led Egon Zehnder International’s consumer practice on the West Coast.
