People: Futurestep, Willis Group, PrideStaff, Veritaaq and more

Here are recent promotions, new hires and other personnel announcements made by staffing firms. Today’s listings include announcements from Futurestep, Willis Group, PrideStaff, Veritaaq, ProStaff, Consilium Staffing, Knightsbridge Human Capital Solutions and Enterprise Search Associates.

Futurestep, a subsidiary of Korn/Ferry International Inc. (NYSE: KFY), named Mir Ali vice president global technology solutions. He will be responsible for driving innovation of the business’ current solutions in the market, including recruitment process outsourcing and recruitment technology services.

Willis Group, a Houston-based talent acquisition and professional services firm, announced Tim Stroud, director of veteran initiatives for Willis Group, will lead the development of its new “Valor for Vets” veteran hiring program. The initiative assists veterans, their families and survivors with their transition into a civilian workforce and provides access to career development resources.

PrideStaff, a national staffing franchise, announced Kevin Pratt is owner/strategic partner of the new Akron, Ohio PrideStaff office, which opened April 7. And Mike Pred is owner/strategic partner of the new Atlanta East office, which opened April 21.

Canadian IT consulting firm Veritaaq announced Larry Goldberg is joining the firm to lead its provincial public sector department. Goldberg will be stationed in the firm’s Toronto office and lead Veritaaq’s expansion into the provincial and municipal government space in Ontario. Jon Rutherford, vice president, solutions, and Lynn Bouchard, vice president, human resources, joined the Toronto office earlier this year.

ProStaff promoted Chip Gabbey to vice president of Pro Staff of the newly-opened Appleton, Wis., office. He will drive new business in Wisconsin and potentially in the Chicago area. Gabbey joined Pro Staff in April 2004 as a business development manager in the Minneapolis office and most recently was sales director. ProStaff also named Sharon Fesko as branch office manager of the Appleton office. Pro Staff is owned by Minneapolis-based staffing provider Atterro Human Capital Group.

Consilium Staffing, a locum tenens staffing firm based in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, promoted four team members in April. Hamilton Doty was promoted from senior client sales consultant to director of client sales; Jason Smith was promoted from senior account manager to director of account management; Christian Hall was promoted from senior recruiting consultant to director of recruiting; and Brook Hamrick was promoted from corporate recruiter to corporate recruiting manager.

Knightsbridge Human Capital Solutions announced Stuart Kaplan joined the firm as president of Knightsbridge USA. Kaplan previously was global chief operating officer of leadership and talent consulting at executive search firm Korn Ferry (NYSE: KFY). Prior to Korn Ferry, Kaplan spent more than a decade at Accenture in a variety of management consulting roles.

Enterprise Search Associates founder Jeff Linck announced his retirement, effective May 2. The firm’s partner, Melinda O’Neil, has taken over full ownership. ETA is an IT recruiter serving the Dayton and Cincinnati areas in Southwest Ohio. The firm also recently expanded into a number of locations, including Chicago, Atlanta, Raleigh-Durham, and Kansas, New York City, and Philadelphia.
