CDI Corp. (NYSE: CDI) said Albert Smith was elected to its board of directors. Smith most recently served as chairman of Tetra Tech Inc., an environmental management and technical services firm. Before that, he had served 20 years at Lockheed Martin, including for a time as president of its integrated systems and solutions division.

The Skilled Group Ltd. said its chairman, Ken Loughnan, agreed to remain on board until at least the company's 2009 annual general meeting. Loughnan had previously announced plans to retire prior to the 2008 annual general meeting on Oct. 21. The Skilled Group, based in Australia, provides industrial and other types of staffing and services. It ranked No. 26 on Staffing Industry Analysts' list of world's largest staffing firms.
