Professional employer organization revenue rose 22.2% at Automatic Data Processing Inc. (NYSE: ADP), the Roseland NJ company reported today. Second-quarter PEO revenue was $249.3 million, up from $204.0 million in the same period in the previous year.

The number of worksite PEO employees rose 20% in the second quarter to approximately 170,000.

Overall second-quarter revenue at ADP rose 14.7% to $2.15 billion. Net income, however, fell 2.2% to $291.2 million
