Automatic Data Processing Inc. (NASD: ADP) reported that revenue in its professional employer organization segment rose 6.6% year over year to $292.4 million in its fiscal fourth quarter ended June 30.

ADP reported it averaged 194,000 PEO worksite employees during its fourth quarter. That's up from 187,000 in the year-ago quarter.

PEO revenue for ADP's full year ended June 30 rose 11.8% from the prior year to $1.19 billion.

Roseland NJ-based ADP provides payroll processing, PEO services and computer services to motor vehicle dealers.

Total fourth-quarter revenue for ADP, including all the company's segments, was $2.11 billion, down 4.5% from the year-ago quarter. For full year 2009, ADP's revenue was $8.87 billion, up 1.0% from the prior year.
