PEO Oasis Outsourcing acquires Doherty Employer Services

December 22, 2015

Professional employer organization Oasis Outsourcing acquired Minneapolis-based PEO Doherty Employer Services.

The transaction closed Dec. 18; terms were not disclosed. Doherty Staffing Solutions, owned by the Doherty family, will continue as a standalone business and is not part of the deal.

Doherty Employer Services, based in Minneapolis, counts 57 internal employees and 12,000 worksite employees. The brand will assimilate into the Oasis brand over time.

Oasis named Rebecca “Becky” Woods, formerly VP of human resources for Doherty Employer Services, as VP and general manager of the Midwest region.

“As Oasis continues to build our business, strategic acquisitions are a critical component of our overall growth strategy,” said President and CEO Mark Perlberg. “Our acquisition of Doherty Employer Services provides us with the opportunity to significantly expand our Midwest presence, allowing Oasis to continue our mission of providing innovation products and services to our client base. We are excited to welcome an experienced and talented team of Doherty professionals to the Oasis organization.”

Oasis Outsourcing is based in West Palm Beach, Fla. The acquisition of Doherty Employer Services follows another deal earlier this month with Oasis acquiring professional employer organization A1HR.

Private equity firm Stone Point Capital and management acquired Oasis last year.

Oasis serves almost 6,000 clients and 200,000 worksite employees.
