Online staffing firm closes $14 million In Series B funding

September 18, 2013

Bright.com, an online staffing firm, closed a $14 million Series B funding round. The investment will primarily go towards powering the data science behind its Bright Score  algorithm that examines features such as a company’s hiring trends or skills on a resume. The company also plans to add to its current staff of 51 people.

Toba Capital, a new investor, led the funding round, along with several existing investors including John Burbank of Passport Capital.

“Data science is transforming the hiring process, and Bright.com is leading the way,” said Vinny Smith, Founder of Toba Capital. “With this investment, we look forward to further enhancing Bright’s platform, which has already changed the way companies like Chase, Nike, and Amazon connect with job seekers.”

Bright.com has more than 6 million job seekers visit each month and has grown to the fourth largest job destination online in under two years, according to the company.
