Online job ads fall in March

April 03, 2013

U.S. online job ads fell by 158,000 in March for a total of about 4.9 million, according to The Conference Board’s report on online jobs ads released today. The decline combined with a 44,400 dip in February to offset January’s gain of 106,900.

“Labor demand has been up and down for the last six months, leaving the new March level basically the same as it was in September 2012,” said June Shelp, vice president at The Conference Board.

Declines in healthcare, sales, and office workers outstripped increases in management, business, and computer workers.
