On Assignment Inc. (NASD: ASGN) appointed Katie Hoffman-Abby as president of its nurse travel division.

Hoffman-Abby has served as executive vice president for the division since March 2010 and is a cofounder of VISTA Staffing Solutions, On Assignment’s physician staffing division. She has more than 25 years of experience in healthcare staffing.

“I am pleased to announce Katie Hoffman-Abby as president of our Nurse Travel division,” said Peter Dameris, president and CEO of On Assignment. “She has led the team at On Assignment nurse travel with true dedication, resulting in operational alignment and a strong growth strategy for this division.”

Hoffman-Abby will continue in her role as executive vice president of VISTA Physician Search and Consulting and VISTA International.
