OSHA and ASA release video on staffing clients’ safety role

November 10, 2015

The American Staffing Association and the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration released a safety video addressing the role of staffing clients in ensuring temporary worker safety.

The video features Assistant Secretary of Labor David Michaels, Ph.D., MPH, as well as ASA staff

“Host employers need to treat temporary workers as they treat existing employees,” said Michaels. “Temporary staffing agencies and host employers share control over the employee, and are therefore jointly responsible for temp employee's safety and health. It is essential that both employers comply with all relevant OSHA requirements.”

The ASA and OSHA have a formal alliance to enhance temporary worker safety and jointly produce safety-related resources.
