Healthcare firms placed 46,000 new online job ads for nurses in July, up 11 percent on a year-over-year basis, according to data from research firm Wanted Analytics.

Cities with the highest demand for nurses included Dallas, New York, Los Angeles, Cleveland and Atlanta. The city with the largest year-over-year increase in demand was Los Angeles with 1,400 new jobs ads for nurses in July — an increase of 21 percent.
