Norway – ManpowerGroup and Adecco largest staffing firms in Norway

As a result of a cooling economy, the Norwegian staffing industry reported a -4.6% drop in the number of hours billed last year. However, the number of people who found work thanks to the staffing industry remained stable at 100,000, according to data released by NHO Service.

Even Hagelien, CEO of NHO Service, commented: “Not unexpectedly, 2013 was a challenging year for us. A new framework gave us tighter margins and higher prices. The cooling of the Norwegian economy resulted in lower demand. As a result, the number of hours billed last year fell by -4.6% compared with the previous year.”

The staffing market in southern Norway and the county of Hordaland to the west were the most challenging markets. However, significant declines were also reported in Oslo and the nearby county of Akershus. Northern Norway, however, bucked the trend and reported a positive trend.
