North Dakota’s unemployment rate lowest despite decline in jobs

North Dakota posted the lowest jobless rate among all states in November at 2.7%, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. North Dakota’s unemployment rate remained lowest despite the number of jobs in the state falling by 2.9% from November 2014 — the largest year-over-year percentage decrease among all states.

Nebraska posted the second-lowest jobless rate in November at 2.9%. New Mexico posted the highest unemployment rate among states at 6.8%.

The state registering the largest year-over-year percentage increase in employment in November was Idaho, where jobs rose by 4.2% from November 2014.
