North Dakota posts lowest jobless rate

North Dakota reported the lowest jobless rate among states in March at 4.2%, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Wyoming registered the second-lowest at 4.5%.

Michigan posted the highest unemployment rate among states in March at 12.6%. It was followed by Oregon, 12.1%; South Carolina, 11.4%; California, 11.2%; and North Carolina, 10.8%.

Unemployment rates rose in all states and the District of Columbia in March compared with a year ago.
