North Dakota jobless rate is lowest

North Dakota reported the lowest jobless rate among states in April at 4.0%, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Nebraska posted the second-lowest at 4.4%. It was followed by Wyoming at 4.5%.

Michigan registered the highest unemployment rate among all states in April at 12.9%. Oregon reported the next highest at 12.0%, followed by South Carolina at 11.5%, Rhode Island at 11.1% and California at 11.0%.

Unemployment rates in all states and the District of Columbia rose year-over-year in April.
