Norrell Corp.’s founder and former CEO Guy Millner joined the board of Source2, a Winter Park, Fla.-based recruitment process outsourcing company. Millner will serve as vice chairman.

“Guy has many years of extensive experience and knowledge in our industry,” Source2 President and CEO David Nuxol said in a press release. “His skills in business development, management and increasing both productivity and profitability are unmatched. He is definitely a titan in our industry.”

Millner established Southeastern Personnel in the early 1960s in Atlanta; the firm was later renamed Norrell and began franchising in 1966. Norrell introduced the master vendor concept in 1992.

Millner served as Norrell’s president and CEO from 1961 until 1993 and served as chairman of Norrell through Otober 1997. Norrell was acquired by Spherion Corp. in July 1999. At the time, Norrell had 385 offices. The value of the transaction was $650 million including stock issued, cash paid and debt assumed, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Spherion was later acquired by Randstad.
