Nonmanufacturing Index Rises at Slower Rate

Economic activity in the nonmanufacturing sector rose in March, but at a slower rate than in February, according to the Institute for Supply Management’s non-manufacturing index, released today. The index fell to a reading of 56.0 in March from February’s reading of 57.3. Readings above 50 indicate growth.

The employment portion of the index rose to 56.7 in March from 55.7 in February.
